Rabat – The World Bank on Thursday congratulated Morocco for the “ambitious” reforms that it has undertaken in order to improve permanently business climate, making the Kingdom “the world’s top reformer” in this field.
During a video conference held in Rabat by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the WB, Sylvia Solf, the Doing Business programme manager, and Simon Gray, the WB director for the Maghreb, highlighted that Morocco’s ranking improved 21 places from last year’s survey to 94th on the world’s list.
The bank’s annual “Doing Business” Morocco showed the biggest improvement as a place to do business this year.
The 9th annual WB report follows regulatory changes in 183 countries for businesses from ease of business start-ups and getting credit to protecting investors and dealing with insolvency.
The report pointed out that Morocco facilitated construction permits, fostered electronic tax filing and strengthened investor protections.
