Morocco inflation eases to 0.3 pct in May

RABAT, June 19 (Reuters) – Morocco’s consumer price inflation eased to an annual 0.3 percent in May from 0.4 percent in April, the High Planning Authority said on Thursday.
The food price index rose to 2.1 percent in the 12 months to the end of May from 0.9 percent last month. Communications expenses tumbled 9 percent and education costs rose 3.5 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices fell 0.2 percent in May after rising 0.1 percent in April, as food prices decreased 0.3 percent.
