Speaking after the meeting the Foreign Secretary said:

It was a pleasure to host Prime Minister Benkirane in the year in which Britain and Morocco celebrate 800 years of bilateral ties. The Prime Minister and I discussed ways in which we could build upon these strong foundations. We agreed on the importance of expanding economic ties between our countries, and work will now be taken forward to forge those closer links. Morocco stands as a strong example of peaceful reform and progress in North Africa, and the UK will continue to support the government’s reform process.
