Morocco has come up with a new policy towards its citizens living in foreign countries, MAP news agency cited minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad Abdellatif Maazouz as saying in a press conference Thursday.
The idea is to improve living conditions and integration in host countries, preserve national identity, develop bilateral relations, and keep Moroccans in the diaspora in the loop on developments, policies and initiatives at home.
At least three million Moroccans currently reside and work in foreign countries, according to recent press reports. The new policy, which will be in place by 2030, is the brainchild of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad, the Council of Moroccan Communities Abroad and the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies.(ANSAmed).
