Marrakech – The Serbian director Emir Kusturica and the American actress Sigourney Weaver will chair the juries of feature and short films competition, respectively, of the 11th Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM), to be held on December 2-10, a statement of the Festival’s Foundation said.

One of the few filmmakers who were awarded twice the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, Emir Kusturica succeeds John Malkovich as president of the festival’s feature Film Jury.

In 2009, the FIFM paid tribute to this Serbian writer, actor and musician.

Twice nominated for Academy Award for best actress, Sigourney Weaver succeeds Volker Schlondorff as head of the Jury of short films competition, awarded to students of film schools and institutes in Morocco.

The festival paid tribute to the actress in 2008.

At this year’s edition, Marrakech International Film Festival will honor the Mexican movie.
