Jobless Algerians rally in Ghardaia

Unemployed people from several provinces insouthern Algeria rallied Saturday (April 13th) in Ghardaia, Tout sur l’Algerie reported. According to the National Committee for Protection of the Rights of the Unemployed (CNDDC), some 1,000 people turned out for the demonstration to demand jobs.

The new protest follows clashes last week between Ouargla citizens and police over social housing distribution. One young man died Friday from tear gas asphyxiation.
