A new round of negotiations on fisheries between Morocco and the European Union (EU) will be held in Brussels, the Belgian capital, before the end of this month, according to an EU communiqué issued here Monday.
Having met last week in Rabat without reaching an agreement, the two parties agreed to meet again before the end of this month in Brussels to conclude the negotiations.
The point of disagreement is the financial compensation the EU owes to Morocco in exchange for the fishing quotas granted to European ships operating in Moroccan terrotorial waters.
The new protocol is expected to enable 120 fishing boats from 11 European countries, including 100 from Spain, to operate in Moroccan waters.
