It’s a good time to… get healthy in Morocco
Hippy hangout, cheap and cheerful package holiday, chi-chi city break – Morocco is all things to all people. The country’s latest reinvention sees it becoming a go-to destination for high-quality yoga and fitness retreats. Among the offerings for 2013 is a week-long retreat in the Atlas mountains from healthy holiday specialist Fitscape. Kasbah Angour is a boutique hotel built in the style of a Berber castle. A week’s stay including accommodation and a programme of hiking, jogging and circuit training costs from £1,395pp (9-16 March and 1-8 May;fitscape.co.uk/kasbah-angour).

For a blast of sunshine and spirituality, sign up for a desert-camp holiday withMorocco Retreats. Combining a stay in a luxury riad in Marrakech with two nights in the Sahara, the seven-night package costs from £1,590pp and includes daily yoga, reiki, massage and meditation (2-9 March;moroccoretreats.com).

And finally, if time is short, the Healthy Holiday Company has launched a range of high-impact long weekends, including a three-night yoga and surfing break near Agadir, which costs from £695pp and includes two days of guided surfing, two yoga classes, two massages and return flights (thehealthyholidaycompany.co.uk).
