Tunisia – The chairman of the National Transitional Council (NTC) of Libya, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, has commended Morocco’s position in support of the revolution in Libya.

In an interview with the Tunisian newspaper “Al Maghreb” published on Friday, Abdel Jalil said that Morocco has played an important role in the Libyan revolution and showed strong support for this revolution as part of the international contact group.

He added that the Kingdom did not cooperate with Gadhafi, in spite of the latter¹s request on several times.

On Libya¹s relations with the Maghreb countries (Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) Abdel Jalil said: “we aspire to close brotherly ties with the Maghreb states in particular and with the Arab and Islamic states and the rest of the world; but the Maghreb remains our immediate environment, with which we have to interact in a spirit of credibility and realism.”
