The Roots International Schools gained international recognition due to the innovative efforts of Ms. Munazza Riaz, events manager at the Metropolitan G-8 Campus. After being shortlisted at the Innovative Education Forum (IEF) hosted by the Microsoft Pakistan, Ms. Munazza Riaz was sent to Marrakech, Morocco.
Ms. Munazza Riaz was placed amongst the 15 winners at MEA Regional Forum (Middle East & Africa Forum) out of 92 participants, which was organised by the Microsoft Partners in Learning, Innovative Teachers’ Forum held at Marrakech, Morocco, from September 27 to 29, and qualified for the Global Forum being held in November in Prague, Czech Republic.
The IEF is part of Microsoft PIL (Partners In Learning) programme, which works with governments and education leaders around the world at the national, state and local levels to deliver a portfolio of professional development, curricula, tools and resources designed to advance 21st-century teaching, learning and digital inclusion that improve learning outcomes for every student. Ms. Munazza’s project was on water, named ‘Aqua Crunch’ presenting the tools of conservation and recycling of water, enhancing the IT skills of the students besides bringing their attention towards the global issues.
