Rabat – Morocco is a multicultural democracy that has been promoting its stature as an emerging country with a growing influence on the international arena, Brazil’s Foreign Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota said on Monday.
The Brazilian official, who was speaking to the press following talks in Rabat with Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri commended the constitutional reforms undertaken by Morocco, ³a friendly and neighbourly country.
The Brazilian Minister expressed gratitude for Morocco¹s support for the election of a Brazilian national as Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In this connection, he voiced hope to see FAO meets the challenges relating to ensuring Africa’s food security and agricultural development.
Patriota highlighted that the Kingdom fulfilled “professionally” its mission as chairman of the G77+ China.
The Brazilian official also recalled Morocco¹s advocacy for the expansion of the Security Council to include countries such as Brazil.
Fassi Fihri for his part, expressed Morocco’s willingness to further boost relations with Brazil, adding that special emphasis was laid on the means to deepen political cooperation and add a new momentum to bilateral relations at the economic, cultural and technical levels.
In this regard, Fassi Fihri voiced satisfaction over the mutual trust between Morocco and Brazil and recalled the historical visit by HM King Mohammed VI to the Latin America¹s largest country.
