(AGI) Rimini – Foreign minister Giulio Terzi ranks Italy as acquiring a “lead role” in the “greater Mediterranean” macro-region. During the course of his speech on the role of the international community with respect to religious freedoms at the Comunione e Liberazione lay Catholics meeting in Rimini, Terzi underscored the region’s capitals’ “appreciation” of Italy’s foreign economic policies, combined with their overt “support for Italian businesses” and pledges to “increase investments in Italy.” Exports towards the greater Mediterranean – comprising Libya, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and six Gulf States – rose 19pc Y/Y in 2011. . .
