Aug 22, 2012—Employees from Imperial Tobacco’s business in Morocco gave up their free time to help clean up two popular beaches near the company’s Aïn Harrouda factory.
Upwards of 130 Imperial Tobacco Maroc (ITM) employees, along with their families, helped tidy up Sablettes and Paloma beaches.
The clean-up days were organised as part of ITM’s commitment to maintain the seashore in the area, for which efforts the company was given an award earlier this year.
Volunteers from sales, marketing and manufacturing came together for the events, which also included fun activities, such as a beach volleyball competition.
“There was a great response, which really shows the value of employee engagement in charitable events and our employees’ commitment to supporting our community,” said HR manager, Morocco, Rokia Goudrar.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Alibou, planning procurement manager, said the company and its employees were proud to have taken part in the event. “We’ve set the example and helped to make our beaches cleaner and safer,” he said.
