Opportunity for close encounter with animals in 60-acre forest
DID you know that Trentham Monkey Forest, near Stoke-on-Trent, is the only place in the UK where you can walk among 140 endangered monkeys in a non-restricted environment?
In this stunning 60-acre forest environment there are no cages or bars for the monkeys and you can watch them wandering across visitor pathways and swinging through the trees overhead, as they would in the wilds of their native Algeria and Morocco.
Discover this amazing species as they exhibit their natural behaviour, and there’s no better time to visit than the summer.
You may even be lucky enough to spot one of the babies born earlier in the year, or why not watch the juvenile monkeys as they play around the older monkeys, chasing each other and having fun.
Set in 60 acres of beautiful Staffordshire woodland and meadows, more than 140 monkeys live in total freedom.
Take the family along to see their fascinating world as you hear rustling in the trees, chattering in a strange language and watch the monkeys crashing through branches.
