On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution, I am writing on behalf of members of Staff of the Embassy, their families and the entire members of the Gambian community in Mauritania to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you, your great family and Government.

Your Excellency, the July 22nd Revolution is indeed an event that kicked off the journey of renaissance for our country, raised political consciousness of the average Gambian and accorded socio-economic development, real independence and sovereignty. The resolve of the revolution is that it has instilled-freedom, social justice, accountability and probity into the body politics of our country and thence to the road to real economic recovery, eventually laying the foundation for a new Socio-economic order in The Gambia.

Though a leadership of strong character and integrity combined with bold and assertiveness, Your Excellency led The Gambia through a tortuous journey of leadership be example, emancipating Gambians, creating opportunities and bringing a sense of unity and purpose for all Gambians.

And with your hands-on leadership style, you encouraged Gambians indeed to sacrifice a little more for the motherland and further instilled the spirit of patriotism, self-help, nationalism and above all grass root participation in our national governance.

As this important occasion has coincided with the Sacred Month of Ramadan for the year 1433 of the Hejira, I wish to equally seize the opportunity to pray for Allah’s blessed period with most precious days of spiritual life with forgiveness and acceptance of our prayers. Finally, I salute you and the membership of the APRC and all the cadres of the revolution for good work done.

Happy Anniversary and May Allah bless you. Please accept, Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration and fraternal esteem.
