Mecca – The leaders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, convened Tuesday and Wednesday in Mecca as part of an extraordinary session, lauded actions undertaken by HM King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Al-Quds committee, to protect the holy sites in the first Qiblah and the third holiest Shrine of Islam.
In the final statement draft, the OIC commended efforts by the sovereign to counter measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities to judaize the holy city.
The leaders of Islamic countries also lauded actions carried out by the Bait Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency and urged financial support by the body, set up upon the initiative of late king Hassan II to defend the inalienable rights of Palestinians in the city of Al Quds as capital of Palestine and to preserve its Arab-Islamic identity and civilizational heritage.
Projects scheduled to be implemented this year in Al Quds city by the Agency amount to 30 million dollars.
