RABAT, Aug 10 (KUNA) — Morocco expressed its “deep concern” over the killings, deportation and violations of human rights of the Rohingyas Muslim minority in Myanmar.
“Morocco calls on the Government of Myanmar to cooperate with the international community and to shoulder its responsibility to provide the necessary protection to that minority and prevent further casualties,” a foreign ministry statement said late Thursday.
It urged neighboring countries to find a solution to the crisis and to provide the necessary humanitarian aid to the displaced.
Morocco hoped Myanmar would take all necessary measures towards ensuring full citizenship for the Muslim minority, achieving reconciliation and ensuring social harmony through dialogue. (end) adt.nfm KUNA 101049 Aug 12NNNN
