Book Launch at Gibraltar House

Gibraltar House was the setting for the launch of “Shadow of the Rock”, the debut novel by Thomas Mogford. The launch was attended by the Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo who were in London to attend the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Set in Gibraltar and Morocco, “Shadow of the Rock” is a crime novel, whose central character is Spike Sanguinetti, a Gibraltarian lawyer. An old friend of Spike who lives and works in Tangier, turns up in Gibraltar following the discovery of a dead body on a beach in Tangier. From there, the story develops into a “…dangerous game of secrets, corruption and lies”.

The venue for the book launch was chosen by the author, a Modern Languages graduate of Oxford University who holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from City University, London. Thomas is already working on “The Sign of the Cross”, the sequel to “Shadow of the Rock” which will take the central character to Malta for his next case.
The book is published by Bloomsbury and will be on sale from 2nd August.
