London – The polisario’s implication in kidnappings shows to the whole world the true face of this separatist group which pretends to be a liberation movement, expert of MENA region Jeremy Keenan said on Thursday in London.
The polisario’s implication in these acts is well established, he said at a conference, organized by Menas Associates, a boutique political risk consultancy, under the theme “New political and security risks in the Sahel region”.
Keenan, also a professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies, noted that the polisario is not acting alone.
It is a tool of the Algerian intelligence department which is using other groups to spread anarchy in the Sahel region.
Amnesty International underlined in its 2012 yearly report on the state of the world’s human rights that “three aid workers – an Italian woman, a Spanish woman and a Spanish man – were abducted by an armed group from a Polisario-run refugee camp.”
