RABAT, June 5 (Reuters) – Morocco has not made a final decision to issue a dollar-denominated sovereign bond issue, the budget minister told Reuters on Tuesday.
“We have not made a final decision about a sovereign bond issue,” said Idriss Azami al-Idrissi, minister in charge of the budget. “We have not even mandated a bank or financial advisors for any bond issue,” he added.
Last month the deputy director of treasury and external finance at the finance ministry’s debt office said Morocco is considering a potential dollar-denominated international bond of up to $1 billion in September or October.
Azami said Eddez’ comments were taken out of their “technical” context.
