GIB MONITORS UK TB VISA MOVE
The UK has introduced new rules with regards to migrants from countries with a high incidence of tuberculosis, where migrants will have to be screened for the infection before being granted a visa.
The new rules will be introduced over three stages during an 18 month period will mean that all migrants coming to the UK for more than six months from the 67 countries identified as having a high incidence of TB by the World Health Organisation will need to be screened for the airborne infection before being granted a visa.
Among the countries on this list, is Morocco. Speaking on behalf of the Government regarding these changes and in relation to Morocco in particular, Minister Gilbert Licudi said, “The Government is aware of the changes being made in the UK. We will monitor the implementation of the new rules in the UK before deciding whether this is something which ought to be introduced in Gibraltar.”
