Greene for go in Morocco

by Gareth Griffiths, Wales On Sunday

WORLD 400m hurdles champion Dai Greene is set to start his outdoor campaign today in Morocco.

Greene is bidding to add to complete the Grand Slam of athletics by adding the Olympic gold medal to the World, European and Commonwealth crowns he already holds.

And this process will start with a 400m hurdles outing alongside fellow Brits Jack Green – and Nathan Woodward while former world champion Felix Sanchez will also be competing.

Greene will compete in his first Diamond League meeting in Rome on Thursday evening against bitter American rival and another world champion Bershawn Jackson.

Sprinter Christian Malcolm is also in action today in the 100m in Hengelo.

The veteran Welshman will renew acquaintances with Mark Lewis Frances who he beat in the Great City Games in Manchester last Sunday.

Former World triple jump champion Phillips Idowu and 1500m silver medallist Hannah England are also in action in Holland.
