USDA sounds fresh alarm over Moroccan wheat crop

Drought in Morocco may cut the country’s 2012 wheat crop (soft and durum) to no more than 2.3 million tonnes this year, the US Department of Agriculture has warned in a new report.

This would be the North African country’s worst harvest since 2007 and could trigger imports of as much as 5 million tonnes in 2012/13, the USDA post report said.
