Marrakech – The first meeting of the Moroccan Sahrawis World Organization will run from June 5 to 8 in Marrakech under the theme “All to lay bases of communication with Moroccan Sahrawis held captive in Tindouf camps.”
This first edition, dubbed “Late King Hassan II”, is meant to highlight the role of civil society in bringing Moroccan Sahrawis together, instilling the values of true citizenship, defending national causes and adopting a participatory approach for the elaboration of the Organization’s action plan, a statement by this body said on Wednesday.
Over 240 people representing Moroccan Sahrawis and their fellow countrymen in Mauritania, Spain, France and Italy will take part in this event.
The meeting is in line with the orientations of the international community which sees to it that contacts with Moroccan Sahrawis held captive in Tindouf camps are made.
