AFD Loans OCP 180 Million Euros

Casablanca – The French Development Agency (AFD) granted, on Thursday, a 180-million euro loan to the state-owned Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP).

This loan is intended to support the OCP carry out its sustainable development strategy in the field of preserving water resources, through a partial funding of desalination plants that will be built in Jorf Masfar and in Safi.

The loan will also help finance the water purification stations of Khouribga, Youssoufia and Ben Guérir as well as the water supply and sewage systems.

The OCP directly employs over 20,000 people and has posted a turnover standing at 56.3 billion dirhams in 2011.
