Morocco/Mohammed VI Cup: Morocco keep title with 21 medals

Morocco has recorded another win at the Mohammed VI international karate cup as they triumphed at the 8th edition with 21 medals. Organized under the auspices of HM Mohammed VI the king, the cup took place between April 20 and 21 at the Prince Moilay Abdellah sport complex in Rabat

Morocco has recorded another win at the Mohammed VI international karate cup as they triumphed at the 8th edition with 21 medals. Organized under the auspices of HM Mohammed VI the king, the cup took place between April 20 and 21 at the Prince Moilay Abdellah sport complex in Rabat. The medals comprise of 10 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze; all won in kata and kumote in various categories. Ayoub Merzaki (+84kg), Mouatassim Fouzari (-84kg), Nizar Halim (-75kg), Redouan Kseksou (-67kg), Younes Ziieter (-60kg), Fatema Zahra Naouass (+98kg) and Soukaina Zahraoui (-61kg) won gold medals in Kumite while Adnane Hakimi and Mahmoudi Said did same in kata. In the team category, Morocco won a gold medal in Kumite and kata after defeating Tunisia 3-2. Tunisia finished second with 9 medals immediately after Algeria (9 medals). The competition that ended last Saturday brought together participants from 12 countries amongst which Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
