Brussels – The partnership between the EU and Morocco, within the framework of the advanced status, is positive, said Michael Mann, spokesman for High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
There is a considerable progress in matters related to relations between Morocco and EU, Mann told MAP news agency ahead of the 10th EU-Morocco Association Council’s meeting slated on Monday.
Ashton’s spokesman recalled the enforcement of the free trade agriculture agreement (scheduled July 1st. 2012), the adoption by the European Parliament of the Protocol for Morocco’s participation in community programs and agencies, as well as the beginning of negotiations for a mobility partnership.
He said that negotiations related to trade in the sector of services are making good progress, noting that the political dialogue with Morocco has always been constructive and that cooperation within international bodies is positive.
He added that the EU and Morocco are about to conclude an agreement on the new neighborhood action plan for 2012-2016.
