Morocco has declared three days of national mourning after one of the country’s worst air disasters.

Seventy-eight passengers and crew were killed on impact when a military transport plane crashed into a mountainside in bad weather. Two survivors later died of their injuries.

The plane, came down around 10km from Guelmim just north of the disputed Western Sahara territory. It had been en route from Dakhala to Agadir.

Most of those on board were soldiers although the army said civilians including family members were also on the flight.
