The duo must complete the trip from Avignon to Ouarzazate and back without the help of satellite navigation.
Nathalie, 39, of Chaldon Way, said she was inspired to take part in the women-only Cap Femina Adventure Rally after her younger sister had completed it last year.
She added: “I am nearly turning 40 and I and I wanted to prove I could do it.”
The 40 teams taking part will spend a day in the desert town of Merzouga, delivering supplies to a women’s craft workshop and a 300-student primary school that they will help to renovate.
“The idea is to turn up to the school with all the cars filled with school books and supplies,” Nathalie said.
“The children are very excited about it.”
Nathalie has enlisted high-profile local sponsors including Hobbycraft and Harwoods car dealership.
