Rabat – Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe Patrick Emery Trovoada urged, on Tuesday in Rabat, the countries that have not yet supported Morocco’s territorial integrity to be “realistic”.
“We think that the states that have not yet joined this position are called upon to be realistic and to take into account that the Parliament, which represents the Moroccan people, is unanimous regarding this issue,” Trovoada told the press following a meeting with Speaker of the Upper House.
The Sao Tome’s official reiterated his country’s position in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces, the Sahara, adding that African countries that seek stability and sustainable development support Morocco’s stand on the Sahara issue.
Finding a solution to the Sahara issue will help the population in the southern provinces to participate fully in development and modernization efforts that are launched in Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, he added.

Patrice Emery Trovoada told the press after a meeting with Moroccan head of government Abdelilah Benkirane that his country has always defended the morocanity of the Sahara.
He hoped that this issue will be soon resolved, because “Africa must overcome division and pay attention to other issues”.
Trovoada urged countries that have not yet taken a position in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity to “recognize the Kindom’s territorial integrity .”
He said his talks with Benkirane explored prospects for bilateral cooperation.
