Tripoli – A ministerial regional conference on border security opened on Sunday in Tripoli with the participation of a Moroccan delegation led by Interior Minister Mohand Laenser.
Laenser is accompanied by Minister Delegate to the Head of Government Head of Government in Charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi.
The event aims to examine security arrangements for common borders, as dilemmas of smuggling and human trafficking remain unresolved since the collapse of Muammar Gaddafi regime.
The conference is attended by Ministers as well as senior officials of the defence and interior ministries of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Niger, Mali, Mauritania and Sudan, along with security experts from each country.
