RABAT, 17 Rabi al-Thani/10 March (IINA)-A cooperation protocol was signed this morning in Rabat at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, between the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the National Union of Moroccan Women (UNFM), under the aegis of UNFM President Her Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, and with the presence of Moroccan ministers and other distinguished personalities. The cooperation protocol was co-signed by ISESCO Director General Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri and UNFM Deputy President Lalla Oum Kalthoum Alaoui. The aim of the cooperation protocol is to enhance cooperation between ISESCO and the UNFM in activities such as organizing forums, meetings, workshops and training sessions, and publishing studies and researches covering areas of common interest. The protocol also seeks to support institutions focusing on education and literacy in women’s maternal health care, stimulate income-generating projects, raise awareness about women’s rights, as well as promote women’s handicrafts and qualify them in various areas. The objective is also to bring the media to bear on increasing awareness about women’s rights, advance women’s rights and strengthen their role in reform for social development, build awareness of the ethical, civil and human aspects of women’s issues, increase women’s access to the potential benefits and services offered by ICTs, increase women’s involvement in charitable, voluntary and humanitarian action, and enforce national and international conventions, laws and instruments on women.
