Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, on Saturday evening in the Al-Aadam mosque in Rabat, a religious ceremony commemorating Eid Al-Mawlid Annabaoui Asharif (the birthday of the Prophet).
On this occasion, Minister of Endowments and Islamic affairs Ahmed Toufiq gave an address on the activities of the Ulema’s Higher Council and local councils and handed HM the King a report on such activities.
Then, the Sovereign handed the Mohammed VI award of merit in Islamic studies and thinking won ex-aequo by Professors Abdelhay El Amrani and Taieb Ben M’Hamed Berrada.
HM the King granted the international Mohammed VI award for memorization, declamation and exegesis of the holy Quran to Amina Salama (Algeria).
The Sovereign handed Zakaria Mohamed Ali Trabelssi (Lebanon) the international Mohammed VI award for psalmody of the holy Quran, with memorization of five “ahzab”.
The Monarch handed the Mohammed VI award of Moroccan calligraphy to Mohamed Amzal who presented to HM the King a painting of Surat Al-Qadr written in Moroccan-Andalusian calligraphy.
The sovereign gave the Mohammed VI award of excellence in Moroccan calligraphy to Rachid Zerta who presented to the King a painting of “Basmala” written in Moroccan “Talt “calligraphy.
The Sovereign was greeted by poet Abdelkarim Bekkach Idrissi Hassani who presented to the King his collection of poems, as well as a painting illustrating a poem in calligraphy.
Professor Abdelhadi Tazi presented to HM the King a book entitled “Al Maghraoui and his pedagogical thinking” of which he did the annotation.
