Rabat – Unemployment rate posted a slight year on year increase of 0.1% reaching 9.1% at the end of the third quarter of 2011, Morocco’s central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib said.
In rural areas, unemployment rate grew 0.3 points to stand at 4.1%, while in cities it dropped 0.3 points to reach 13.5%, the same source said in its January bulletin on the economic, monetary and financial situation.
Unemployment rate among men shrunk by 0.3 points (8.4%), while it rose 1.2 points among women (11%).
As for unemployed graduates, the rate dropped 0.5 points to stand at 16.9%, the same source said, noting that unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.1% for the without diplomas category.
