Manhasset (New York outskirts) – The ninth round of informal talks on the Sahara takes place in a “special climate” in the Maghreb region thanks to the positive changes arising out of the Arab spring and the “new regional dynamic” marked by the rapprochement between Rabat and Algiers, said Moroccan Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani.

“This time, the talks on the Sahara take place in a special climate in light of positive changes arising out of the Arab spring, marked by the new dynamic in the Maghreb relations, notably the rapprochement between Rabat and Algiers,” said on Tuesday in Manhasset El Otmani, during a press briefing after the ninth round of informal talks on the Sahara.
This new regional order “requires all parties to the dispute over the Sahara issue to change their perception and adopt a new approach,” he stressed, noting that “it is precisely what Morocco is working to contribute.”
