20 Consortia Selected To Compete In Morocco’s Tender For 170 MW Of PV

The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) has prequalified 20 consortia in the frame of a tender for the construction of three PV plants with a combined capacity of 170 MW. According to local news portal Infomaroc, the three plants will be located in Ouarzazate, Laayoune and Boujdour, southern Morocco, and will be part of the 2 GW Noor solar complex, a giant solar project being developed by Masen and consisting of large-scale CSP and PV power plants.

Several well-known international solar developers are leading the prequalified consortia: Canadian Solar, First Solar, Abengoa, EDF Energies Nouvelles, Elecnor, Enel Green Power, Fotowatio, Yingli Green Energy, Jinko Solar , Masdar, Oci Solar, SunPower, SECI Energia, Terra Solar and Acciona. The final winners of the tender will be announced in December. The entire 2 GW Noor project is due to be completed by 2020. © PHOTON
